Kitesurfing
From mid December until the end of May the wind blows almost every day, and in the afternoon the thermal wind adds a little extra. Salamansa is the spacious home spot, with flat water in the centre and waves upwind. Unlike the busy kite beaches elsewhere in Cape Verde, here you still have room to breathe.
Island tours
Our guides do not rush you from viewpoint to viewpoint. You walk through Mindelo, taste the food, hear the music and talk to the people. That warmth has a name here: morabeza. Choose four hours of highlights or a full day that ends with a local lunch and a story for life.

The island
São Vicente is one of the windward Barlavento islands of Cabo Verde, about 24 kilometres from east to west. Most islanders live in Mindelo, the cultural capital of the country, where morna drifts out of the bars and the carnival is famous far beyond the islands.
Outside the city you find quiet beaches, fishing villages and Monte Verde, at 725 metres the highest point of the island. It is not a resort island, and that is exactly the point: you come for the people, the music and the feeling that the island is still yours to discover.

Why book here
This guide started years ago with people who live and breathe São Vicente. We share the places locals love, not just the obvious ones.
Your request goes to a carefully selected provider on the island: instructors, guides and hosts who know the spots and the people.
Ask for anything, from one lesson to a full holiday. You get a proposal first and only confirm when it feels right.
Good to know

São Vicente is warm all year. The dry season, roughly October to June, is the most popular time to go. Kitesurfers come for the reliable trade winds from mid December to the end of May, and in February or March Mindelo celebrates its famous carnival. More in our weather guide.
Choose an activity, fill in the short form and send it. Your request goes to a trusted local provider on São Vicente, who contacts you with availability and a proposal. Nothing is booked or paid until you agree.
Yes. The kitesurf lesson is a three hour introduction with equipment and transport included. Some spots on the island are for experienced riders only, which is exactly why learning with a local instructor makes the difference.
Not every day. A car for the first days is the easiest way to explore the beaches and viewpoints. After that, Mindelo is walkable and shared minibuses (aluguers) and taxis cover most of the island. See our car rental tips.

Tell us your dates and wishes. A local provider comes back to you with availability and a proposal, free and without obligation.
